* Daily Mass Reading and Philippine Relief – Nov 22

….from Deacon Ben…

Dear Sisters & Brothers in Christ,

Thank you for your continuing generosity in boxing and shipping relief supplies for our brothers & sisters in the Philippines who are struggling to rebuild their lives after Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).  Massive aid and medical support is beginning to reach and help them.  You still have an opportunity to ship boxes for free through LBC through the end of next week, Saturday, November 30, 2013.   Let’s send them our Thanksgiving blessings through our material and financial support as well as our prayers.

And thanks to the Daughters of Isabella organization of St. Andrew Church Community in Daly City for creating and packing 35 boxes of Philippine typhoon disaster relief supplies.  Earlier I had mistakenly credited the parish’s Cursillistas.  It’s gratifying to hear how many different groups and individuals are humbly working as one to serve the Lord by serving the least of our brothers and sisters, often without desiring or receiving any recognition.  In doing so we are simply fulfilling the Lord’s command to be good and faithful stewards of our time, talent, and treasure.  Know that God sees your good works, and the He will reward you in His own way for having a selfless, generous spirit.  Keep up the wonderful work!
