Marriage

In the Catholic Church, marriage is understood as a sacrament so that the community of believers can encounter God’s real love for all persons made visible in the depth of love between a man and woman. Marriage is what we celebrate; the wedding is where the friends and family witness to these dimensions of love of God for us through the couples’ self-giving love.

We invite couples to engage in marriage preparation, which requires a minimum of six months prior to the celebration. During preparation, the couple are asked to attend a Marriage Prep Program.

COVID-19 Preparation: See our recent post of June 18, 2021.

Following the review of the inventory, which requires a minimum of five appointments, the couple will work with the director of music ministry for St. Jerome Catholic Church to plan the Rite of Marriage.
