* the Magi Group

Greetings, parishioners and friends of Saint Jerome’s Parish!  This winter, we are launching a new weekly faith sharing opportunity which I am calling “the Magi Group”, after the three magi, or wise ones, who left home and followed a star in search of the newborn king of the Jews, Jesus.

We will meet virtually every Wednesday evening from 6 to 7:15 pm PST starting on January 20.

Here are some of the activities that will make up our weekly hour together:

  • Viewing excerpts from the videos of Bishop Robert Barron, a leading figure in at current efforts in Catholic evangelization
  • Sharing the reading and discussion of short inspirational texts chosen by Father Dave
  • Learning to do “Lectio Divina”, “holy reading”, which is different from merely reading a text but which is focused on letting God speak to us though a text
  • Exploring topics proposed by the group, e.g., the relationship of religion and science, the teaching of the Church on particular issues, etc.

You can connect to the group on zoom using these credentials:

God bless,
